Toronto Transit Commission orders 10 electric buses from New Flyer
New Flyer Industries Canada has won an order from the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) for ten forty-foot electric Xcelsior CHARGE transit buses, with an option to purchase up to 30 additional buses over the next two years.

- Wireless charging systems work by a process called electromagnetic induction
- Electricity passes through a coil of wire inside a pad creating a magnetic field
- This field transfers electricity to a charging receiver on the underside of the car
- The scheme could also see these pads installed at service stations and car parks

The shift to electric cars: Are we there yet?
In Rawdon, the electric car capital of Canada, it took Bourgeois Chevrolet dealership five years to get to the point where electric cars make up 50 per cent of its sales. "Our first customers were people who were very informed about electric car technology", says co-owner Hugo Jeanson. "Today's it's Mr. and Mrs. Everyone coming in to buy."
